lake district tourism & conservation partnership . . .
Cumbria is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt places in Britain. But the ravages of time, weather and the many visitors can all take their toll on this fragile environment.
The Tourism and Conservation Partnership is a non-profit making organisation that brings together tourism businesses, conservation groups and visitors to raise funds to help preserve and enhance the natural beauty of the area.
Where you see their logo, you know that the business using it cares enough about the local environment, and its long-term future, to give money to help them conserve it.
Riversdale is proud to be a member of the Tourism and Conservation Partnership. We are currently supporting the Upland Footpath Repair Project, the object of which is to repair and maintain some of the footpaths in the Grasmere area. This work will involve stone pitching, some realignment and landscaping.
All monies raised by us are passed to The Tourism and Conservation Partnership, who manage the scheme in association with The National Trust, English Nature and the National Park.
Thanks to the generosity of our guests, we raised over £500 last year. Our target for 2008 is to raise another £600 towards this vital work. As every £1 donated here is matched by a further £2 from the Heritage Lottery Fund this will make a substantial difference.
We shall look forward to your support.
