Cancellation Policy . . .

We look forward to welcoming you to Riversdale. When you make a booking, you enter into an agreement with us, so to avoid any disappointment we have set out below some details that you may like to be aware of.

Arrival: Your room will be available from 4pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. Please let us know if you plan to arrive after 8pm. Departure: Please be ready to leave your room by 10.30am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. Your bill for the accommodation and any extras taken during your stay is payable on departure. Payment: We accept payment by cash, cheque, debit cards and most credit cards. Credit card payments are subject to a surcharge of 2% to cover the additional costs of processing this type of transaction.

Smoking: We cater exclusively for non-smokers. If this condition is broken, your accommodation will be cancelled forthwith. You will be charged for the length of stay prior to cancellation and may be charged in full for the length of stay booked if we cannot re-let the room.

Damages and Breakages: We do not charge for fair wear and tear, but if you cause any significant damage or breakage to the accommodation or its contents we will invoice you for their repair or replacement, and we may make an additional charge if the damage affects future use of the room. Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act. Non-availability: We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation were unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Data: Any data gathered during the course of our correspondence (by post, e-mail or phone) may be held on computer, but this will be used exclusively by us to communicate with you. We do not pass your details onto any other person or organisation, except as may be required by law.

Cancellation: If you have to cancel your booking for any reason, please note that we operate a standard policy in line with “Visit Britain” recommendations. In the case of cancellation we will try to re-let the room(s) booked. If we are able to do so, then you will not be liable for any further charges and we will return your deposit, less an administration charge of £5. If we are unable to re-let the room(s), we will retain your deposit and you will be liable for a proportion of the outstanding balance (for Bed and Breakfast), in accordance with the following scale:

No charge will be made for pre-booked evening meals not taken if cancelled a minimum of 24 hours in advance, otherwise they will be charged for in full. You may wish to consider taking out appropriate holiday insurance to protect you against any charges incurred upon cancellation.
